Dry vibrating screen or dry screen is a kind of linear vibrating screen, which is used to minimize the adsorbed liquid phase of drilling cuttings discharged from the main vibrating screen and hydrocyclone, and return the treated liquid phase to the circulating system. The drying screen shall be used in closed-circuit circulation system or in places where it is required to reduce the liquid phase content of drilling waste. There are chemical and mechanical methods to reduce the discharge of liquid phase. The chemical method adopts the dehydration reaction system and the mechanical method adopts the linear vibrating screen. The two methods can be used alone or in combination.

The dry vibrating screen can be combined with any equipment of the solid control system, such as linear vibrating screen, desander, desilter, etc. The solid phase discharged after the combined treatment of these equipment passes through a linear vibrating screen with fine mesh cloth (api200 mesh) to recover the liquid phase on the adsorbed solid phase. All the equipment is combined into a drilling fluid cleaning system, which is installed on the drilling fluid tank in a straight line with the main vibrating screen. When not used as a dry shale shaker, these equipment can also be connected to the drilling fluid circulation system to facilitate the separation of fine particles. These dry shale shakers are used to pump the treated drilling fluid from the desander and desilter, and then flow into the next stage of treatment equipment after drying.

Last week we shipped 10 units shale shaker to offshore drilling platform , which is for a China drilling project. For this project, GN recommend our 5 pcs shaker screen model. As we all know, GN has vary models shale shaker, 594, 703,and 752,595. Today I will introduce this 5 panels shale shaker.

GNZS-594 is similar model GNZS-594, the difference is 594 need to install 5pcs shaker screen, so the shaker deck is longer 25% than 594 model. However ,both them used same size shaker screen, which is same size with mongoose. This is very friendly to client to get the shaker screen from GN or from their local to use their own mongoose screen. Like we just said ,5 pcs shaker own the longer deck , which mean the slurry can stay more longer time before the solids discharge, and get the longer treatment time. This is helpful to user to receive more dryer drill cutting and recycle more drilling mud. On offshore drilling platform ,dryer drilling cutting is convenient to client to transport and further treatment.
Except the longer shaker deck.GNZS594 keep using lots same technology with 594 model. The vibrator is from OLI, which is a famous brand from Italy, it is very stable. The adjust angel of shaker deck is between -1~5 degree. operator can adjust the treatment time through adjust the deck angle. Wedge system for screen fix, it is a sample mechanical method for screen install and replace, but it is stable and reliable system, this is also why GN always use this sample system.

Almost every well needs to remove the poor solid phase of cobalt well fluid. At about 1000m or 1300m, poor solid phase in drilling will lead to complex problems such as circulation loss, sticking or well control. Once these complex situations occur, the cost will far exceed the cost saved by using solid control equipment. The correct use of solid control equipment will greatly reduce the drilling cost. Although the solid phase in drilling fluid can be controlled by diluting cobalt well fluid to achieve the expected purpose, this method is not easy to operate and the cost is relatively high。
For example, the total amount of drilling fluid with a depth of 1000F and a borehole diameter of 12in contains 144bbl solid phase. If the solid phase content is reduced to 6%, the total amount of drilling fluid will increase to 2400bbl. Therefore, 144bbl of solid phase requires 2256bb1 of solid-free clean drilling fluid 14bbv (2256b1l + 144bl) = 6% (volume fraction). The cost of this kind of clean cobalt drilling fluid is unacceptable, and the drilling fluid circulating tank in most well pads can not hold so much drilling fluid, that is, 2256bb1 of solid-free clean drilling fluid is required for every 1000 drilling. (for dilution calculation, see Chapter 15) use vibrating screen to remove cobalt chips as much as possible. Although the vibrating screen is an important part of the solid control system, it is only part of a complete solid control system, not all. The three-level solid control system must be matched reasonably and operated carefully to ensure the best removal effect of all solid phases and minimize the drilling cost. 7.6.3
When designing the vibrating screen system with special factors, the influence of special factors such as flow rate, flow pattern, drill pipe volume, BHA, drilling rig power, applicable height and discharge dryness (resistance) must be considered. Most design methods use the evaluation parameters of the drilling fluid prepared in the laboratory to extrapolate the field application, but the drilling fluid prepared in the laboratory can not truly reflect the properties of the drilling fluid in the actual drilling. At high bottom hole temperature, the high shear rate produced by the bit nozzle makes the cobalt well fluid contain many colloidal particles, which will not be produced by the drilling fluid prepared on the surface.

This pump is different with other type pump, which is used to transfer the material with high solids content such drill cutting or oil sludge. It is driven by air. The most suck distance is more than 50 meter and discharge distance can be more than 1000 meters. The pump attract lots customer at OTC, because the special structure and its particular application. Many client told they will try to use this pump to instead their old low efficiency method for oil sludge transfer. Especially for some crude oil tank cleaning, the sand on bottom.

Mud agitator play a important role in oil drilling industry for the drilling mud treatment. As we all know drilling mud is very important medium material, which can carry the drilling cutting from well, and balance the pressure between inside and outside well. However, drilling mud include lots solids, it keep the mud in a high density and high property. These solids are very easy to settle down on tank bottom. Mud agitator is one kind very efficiency equipment to blend mud.

Last week, we just delivered 12 agitators for offshore drilling platform. These agitator’s power is 15 kw with double layers impeller. When client install these agitator on tank, we suggest every 3 meters mount a agitator. Because the too long distance will reduce the mixing efficiency. When you select agitator , firstly need to consider the tank depth, when the depth is too high, we will recommend double layers or three layers even 4 layers agitator. The second factor is mud density, the high density also required the bigger power motor to provide driven force. The third factor is diameter of impeller, when the mud width is big, we also need to provide a longer impeller to make sure the impeller can blend the mud of edge. The number four factor need to consider the explosive standard, in different work area, which will require a different explosive proof standard ,most job site will require the equipment can be used in zone 1 application ,but on offshore drilling of ocean drilling platform ,Client normally need zone 1 application. GN can reach all these required.

The agitator actually have 2 structure, one is horizontal structure. The motor and shaft connected with right angle. The other structure is motor direct connect with reducer through flange, this structure can provide more higher efficiency transmission efficiency.
