last week we shipped out one set slurry system to Africa for pipe-jacking project. Pipe-jacking is one kind mature technology of municipal project. For some pipeline laying in city, which do not to dredging and cover a small area when process, and also reduce the pollution to environment, especially in downtown of city, this kind project will not affect traffic of city.
However , pipe-jacking project will also consume lots water to flush the solids, and cooling machine, which will generate large sludge. It is difficult to transport these sludge without dewatering. How to recycle the water for reuse, and drying solids to transport out with small cost. Both is always the issue the engineer need to considering. GN slurry system was specially developed for these kind project. Drying solids and recycling water. Our 1500D model slurry system includes the shale shaker, hydrocyclone , centrifugal pump. This system can separate slurry with 3 stages.
Firstly, the sludge will be feed on the bottom shaker, it can remove out the solids bigger than 800mm. At this stage ,partial big solids will separated out, and the liquid after treatment will down to the bottom tank. Secondly, the centrifugal pump will suck the liquid into hydrocyclone. Under the high speed rotational flow, the solids bigger than 80 um will down to the upper shaker. The upper shaker installed high mesh shaker screen .It can dewatering the solids again , and recycle the remain water as much as possible. same as stage 1,liquid go through shaker screen and down to bottom tank. When material inside hydrocyclone, the cleaned liquid will flow out form the upper of hydrocyclone, and recycled for reuse in project.

At the beginning of drilling history, people use clean water to dilute the solids content in drill mud. Sometimes, diluting drilling mud thorough adding water is good way and necessary , but for some high density drilling slurry , the dilution cost is very high. If this dilution costis used to purchase solid control equipment, the economic benefit will be better.
One or more of the following technologies are used on site to remove the solid phase in the drilling fluid
screening technology: shale shaker for drilling fluid, and strong water sensitive mud shale removal device;
Cyclone separation technology: desander and desilter;
Centrifugal separation technology: coarse mesh and sedimentation centrifuge;
Gravity sedimentation technology: sedimentation tank and dewatering device.
In general, these technologies can be accomplished by using separate equipment. However, in some cases, these equipment can be used in combination. For example, like the mud cleaner, it is to fix a hydrocyclone on the vibrating screen. Another important combination device is the drill cuttings dryer (also known as rotary shale shaker), which is a centrifuge equipped with a conical shale shaker, which can be used to separate the drilling cuttings in the drilling fluid to recover the drilling mud before treating the drilling cuttings. In addition, these devices help to improve the solid phase removal efficiency. For example, sometimes a vacuum or atmospheric degassing device (installed in front of the centrifuge, especially between the shale shaker and the desander) is installed to remove the gasbubbles in the drilling fluid that can cause the pump to evacuate and reduce the density of drilling fluid.

Most People is just engaged in drilling work tend to reduce every expenditure without knowing about drilling engineering, and believing this will reduce drilling costs. If each work is not interdependent, reducing the cost of each work will minimize the total drilling cost. For example, it is cheaper to weight drilling fluid with drilling cuttings than barite. But the next unpredictable question is how much it will cost to deal with it. This situation is caused by the inherent nature of drilling cuttings

A common mistake is usually caused by misunderstanding about reducing drilling costs, such as allowing drilling fluid to initially use cuttings to increase its density. Obviously, if no other weighting components are added to the drilling fluid, the cost of drilling fluid will be very low, and its theoretical basis is easy to find. However, there are too many cuttings in the drilling fluid and little removal, which will increase the additional cost. Another common mistake often occurs when using weighted drilling fluid. It is mistakenly believed that the weighted material will be removed when removing drilling cuttings. The increased cost of removing weighting materials (barite or iron ore powder) is far less than the cost of dealing with complex or accidents caused by drilling cuttings. In the high cost offshore drilling environment, this view is correct and has its particularity. Even in low-cost onshore drilling, most views tend to prefer to remove some weighting components rather than excessive cuttings in the drilling fluid. Proper selection and use of drilling fluid solid-phase control equipment, combined with correct selection of drilling fluid system, usually results in low drilling cost. The drilling rig will drill many different types of wells every year. It is wise to equip the equipment on the drilling fluid tank, and it can also save investment. On the contrary, another common mistake is to think that the removal of solid phase requires different drilling fluid tank arrangements for different drilling fluid systems. A cuttings removal system suitable for water-based, oil-based and synthetic based drilling fluid systems is established. As we all know there will be large drill cutting when drill well, especially in the petroleum drilling ,as long as the more drilling depth, the drilling mud is the most important thing decide if we can finish the drilling work, bad drilling mud will directly destroy the well and eve rig machine.
