GN Solids Control has provided thousands of solids control and waste management equipment to global customers this year. Last month, GN Solids Control shipped a large quantity of solids control equipment to one Russia customer.
Here are the main solids control equipment we provided:
1. 8 Sets Shale Shakers
GN Shale Shaker is the first treating unit when drilling mud comes from the drilling rig. By using different API nos. shaker screens, GN shale shaker help to remove most of the solids larger than 100 microns.
2. 6 sets Mud Cleaners
GN mud cleaner is GN shale shaker fixed with 4inch cyclones and 10 inch cyclones. Usually 10inch cyclones remove solids larger than 55microns while the 4 inch cyclones help to eliminate solids larger than 25 microns.
3. 3 sets Centrifugal Degassers
GN centrifugal degassers are especially designed to use in narrow working room if the mud tank is too small. It plays the same function as the vacuum degasser.
4. 4 sets Decanter Centrifuges
GN decanter centrifuges are the most cost effective treating equipment which are largely used in solids and liquid separation, not only in the oil and gas solids control and waste management treating area, but also widely used in the other slurry treating, like hydrovac slurry treating, mining slurry treating etc.
GN decanter centrifuges are using tungsten carbide tiles to protect the screw propeller for long time usage. GN centrifuge rotating bowl is made by centrifugal casting. Now GN has 9inch, 14inch, 18inch, 22inch and 30 inch bowl centrifuge for choose.
5. 10 sets Centrifugal Pumps
Centrifugal pumps are largely used to transfer solids. GN made centrifugal pump is interchangeable with NOV Mission Mangum pumps.
6. 2000 pcs Shaker screens
Beside those above treating equipment, customer also purchased 2000 pcs shaker screens from GN. All screens are composite frame ones, which are much better than traditional metal frames ones. GN Houston warehouse also has thousands screens in stock.

GN Solids Control manufactures different sizes centrifuges. If classified by rotating bowl sizes, GN Solids Control centrifuges have 9 inch, 14 inch, 18 inch, 22 inch and 30 inch. Different bowls have different treating volume.

Actually, GN Solids Control has upgraded its 9 inch centrifuge by using longer rotating bowl in the D version and has 2 driven motors in the E version. Different models can be used to suit customers’ changing demands for thickening or dewatering. Customized centrifuge can be built, such as the rotating bowl material, taper angle, screw propeller layers etc. GN has many experienced engineers can help to build the most suitable decanter centrifuges.
Usually, a shaker is used as a pre-screening equipment before slurry feed into GN decanter centrifuge. GN shale shaker helps to remove coarse solids, GN shaker screens are the most cost-effective screens for all customers. When feed slurry into decanter centrifuge, the max. solids content should be less than 20% and the max. solids size should less than 2mm. If you want to have a better treating performance, it’s better to use a shale shaker to eliminate those larger solids first.

Here are the main treating equipment in GN Hydrovac Slurry Treating System:
1. GN Hi-Cap Shaker
GN Hi-Cap shaker is the first treating unit that treat all the loaded slurry from GN feeding hopper. Actually, in order to treat 2 truckloads at the same time, GN Solids Control provided a customized feeding hopper to collect hydrovac slurry first. GN Hi-cap shaker is used to eliminated those larger solids/ stones/ wastes in the hydrovac slurry.
2. GN Finer Shaker
Here GN Solids Control provides a double deck shaker to treat the slurry discharged from GN hi-cap shaker.
3. GN Deilster
GN desiter is shaker fixed with 4inch hydrocyclones, which can be used to eliminate solids larger than 25 microns. Both GN shaker and GN disilter can be assembled with GN ViST unit to recover more drilling fluids and get much dryer solids.
4. GN Decanter Centrifuge
GN decanter centrifuge is the key treating equipment to eliminate most of those solids out. A chemical dosing unit will also be used to help removal finer solids. In order to treat hydrovac slurry well, GN Solids engineers modify the centrifuges to work with larger treating flow and better separating performance.
5. GN Mud Tank
All those treating equipment mentioned above are fixed on GN mud tank. Recover solids can be used for construction materials, and recovered water can be used for hydrovac trucks or can be further treated to drink water.
