A complete wastewater treatment system manufactured by GN Solids Control has been shipped to an African oilfield to support drilling and produced-water treatment. The package integrates four major functional modules: the Pre-Mixing module, the decanter centrifuge module, the chemical dosing system, and the clean-water recovery and transfer module. This modular design ensures reliable solids-liquid separation and stable operation in demanding oilfield environments.
The process begins with the Pre-Mixing module, which homogenizes incoming wastewater containing mud, fine solids, and oil residue. Proper Pre-Mixing greatly improves downstream separation efficiency and helps maintain consistent feeding conditions for the decanter centrifuge.
The second stage features the high-speed decanter centrifuge, which generates strong G-force to remove fine and ultra-fine solids. GN’s centrifuge technology ensures continuous operation, low maintenance, and high clarity of discharged liquid.
To enhance separation performance, the chemical dosing module prepares and injects flocculants automatically. Accurate dosing helps the centrifuge capture ultra-fine particles and produce cleaner water suitable for reuse.
Finally, the clean-water recovery module collects and transfers clarified water to storage or reuse points. This reduces freshwater consumption and improves the environmental footprint of the oilfield operation.
With integrated Pre-Mixing, decanter centrifuge, chemical dosing, and water-recycling technologies, GN Solids Control continues delivering reliable solutions for global wastewater treatment challenges.

GN Solids Control has successfully shipped a new package of drilling cuttings treatment equipment to a long-term Middle East customer. The shipment includes three GNZS594K High-G Drying Shakers and two GNCD930G Vertical Cuttings Dryers, which together form a highly efficient drilling waste management solution for demanding drilling operations.
The three GNZS594K high-G units are designed for heavy-duty dewatering and fast solids removal. Each drying shaker features strong vibration performance, a large screen area, and a reinforced structure to handle high mud loading in both land and offshore drilling projects. By applying adjustable G-forces, the drying shaker effectively reduces moisture content in discharged cuttings, lowering waste volume and improving overall mud recycling efficiency.
The two GNCD930G vertical dryer units play an equally important role in handling oil-based and synthetic-based drilling cuttings. Each dryer provides high liquid recovery, stable operation, and long service life, making it a preferred choice for drilling contractors. The dryer significantly minimizes the discharge of oil-contaminated cuttings and helps operators meet strict environmental regulations in the Middle East region.
This delivery further strengthens GN’s presence in the Middle East market, where customers increasingly require reliable, high-efficiency, and environmentally compliant solids control equipment. With its robust engineering and proven performance, GN continues to support global drilling companies with advanced solutions for drilling waste reduction and fluid recovery.

GN Solids Control is pleased to announce the successful shipment of a complete drilling fluid transfer package to a valued European client. This delivery includes one set of Centrifugal Pump and one set of Shear Pump, both fully inspected and tested before dispatch. These two pump models will be used in the client’s upcoming drilling operations to improve mud transfer and chemical mixing efficiency.
The GN Centrifugal Pump is designed for stable, continuous mud transfer in solids control systems. It is commonly applied for feeding desanders, desilters, and mixing hoppers. Featuring a heavy-duty mechanical seal, optimized flow passages, and a long-lasting bearing assembly, the pump ensures reliable performance under demanding field conditions. Many international customers choose GN centrifugal pumps due to their durability, low spare parts cost, and easy maintenance.

The GN Shear Pump plays a critical role in fast hydration of polymers, bentonite, and other drilling additives. By generating strong shear force inside the pump chamber, it breaks down powder clusters and greatly enhances chemical mixing efficiency. This allows the drilling fluid to reach its required viscosity and gel strength more quickly, improving mud quality while reducing chemical consumption.

Both the Centrifugal Pump and Shear Pump are mounted on compact steel frames for convenient installation and transportation. The European client selected these units based on their proven performance and GN’s reputation for delivering reliable equipment to global oilfield markets. This shipment reflects GN’s continued commitment to high manufacturing standards, quick delivery, and excellent service support.
GN Solids Control will keep providing efficient pumping systems and complete solids control solutions to international drilling contractors and service companies.
Hydrovac excavation, a non-destructive digging method, generates large volumes of contaminated mud that demands efficient treatment to meet environmental standards. GN Solids Control, a leader in separation technology, presents the GNLW454GT mud dewatering centrifuge—engineered to tackle this challenge with unmatched performance and cost-effectiveness.
2025.11.20 Hydrovac Dewatering Centrifuge
At the core of the GNLW454GT lies an 18-inch (450mm) diameter bowl with an impressive 74-inch (1880mm) length, delivering a 4:1 length-to-diameter ratio that ensures thorough separation of low-gravity solids. Powered by a 37/45/55KW main motor and 11/15/22KW back-drive, this centrifuge operates at a maximum bowl speed of 3437RPM, generating up to 3000G force—enabling it to capture solids as small as 2-5μm with exceptional efficiency.
2025.11.20 Mud Dewatering Centrifuge
With a typical capacity of 300GPM (68m³/h) and a maximum capacity of 400GPM (90m³/h) for water-based fluids, the GNLW454GT adapts seamlessly to varying mud conditions. Its variable frequency drive (VFD) allows precise control of bowl speed (0~3200RPM) and differential speed (0~45RPM), while optional temperature and vibration sensors enhance operational safety and performance monitoring.
Beyond hydrovac applications, the GNLW454GT excels in diverse industries: drilling fluids solids control, industrial wastewater treatment, oil sludge processing, municipal sewage purification, and mining separation. Its robust gearbox (7500 N·M torque) and compatible 15KW recommend pump motor ensure reliable, long-term operation even in harsh environments.

Traditional solids-control equipment removes particles above 5 microns, while ultra-fine solids continue accumulating in the drilling mud. To stabilize fluid properties, operators often dilute mud with large volumes of water, increasing both cost and waste.

To solve this, GN provides a chemically enhanced Dewatering Unit that uses polymer flocculation and high-speed separation to remove solids below 5 microns. This produces cleaner water suitable for reuse or controlled discharge—reducing water consumption and waste generation.

2025.11.14 Polymer dosing unit

How the dewatering process works:

  • The automatic dosing system prepares polymer solution.

  • A slurry pump transfers mud into the decanter centrifuge.

  • Polymer is injected into the feed line via the dosing pump.

  • Chemical and mud are fully mixed in the feed tube.

  • The high-speed centrifuge separates ultra-fine solids and improves fluid quality.

GN also offers 20-ft and 40-ft containerized Dewatering Unit packages for drilling mud treatment, municipal sludge, tunneling, and environmental applications.
