GN Solids Control has provided hundreds of drill cuttings management systems to international customers. GN Drill Cuttings Management Systems are mainly includes two configurations: one is GN Hi-G Shale Shaker and GN Decanter Centrifuge, the other is GN Cuttings Dryer and GN Decanter Centrifuge.
Weeks ago, GN Solids Control provided one set of cuttings management system to a Xinjiang, China Drilling Company. That GN system is designed to treat oil base cuttings and synthesized base cuttings, so the main treating equipment GN Solids Control provided is GN Cuttings Dryer and GN Decanter Centrifuge.
1.GN Cuttings Dryer
GN Cuttings Dryer is the first treating phase. All cuttings are transferred by a screw conveyor or vacuum pump into GN Cuttings Dryer inlet. GN Cuttings Dryer has 3 different sizes of screen baskets: 0.25 mm, 0.35 mm and 0.50 mm. Cuttings larger than 0.25 mm can be separated out. Rotating speed up to 1200 rpm and G force reach to 750G in order to separate out most of the solids. Based on site testing, GN cuttings dryer can help to reduce the oil on the final cuttings below 5% converse the original oil content is around 20%.
To keep the screen basket from blocking, 4 flushing outlets inside the cuttings dryer are used to flush the cuttings dryer discharge ring. And an air knife system also helps to force the solids off the screen basket.
2.GN Decanter Centrifuge
GN Decanter Centrifuge is the second phase treating unit, it eliminate those finer solids (above 2~5 microns) from the liquid discharged by GN Cuttings Dryer.
As GN Cuttings Dryer treat flow rate is around 30~50 Tons/Hour, here use a 14 inch bowl centrifuge can match the treating volume.
When treat water base cuttings, use GN Hi-G shaker to replace the cuttings dryer is another wise choice. GN Hi-G shaker is more cost effective as it can eliminate most of the liquid or water. GN vacuum screen unit can be also provided if you need a much dryer solution.
